The Roller Coaster That Is Network Marketing
The MLM Success/Failure Reasons Curve

Most people new to network marketing will go through a roller coaster of emotions in the early days that will ultimately lead to Success or Failure.

The 4 phases in Network Marketing

Phase 1 - Excitement - You are either introduced to your new network marketing business or you find it online. You are so excited. You set up your website, you listen to all the conference calls, you talk to your friends and family with the highest level of excitement. You believe that you have finally found THE opportunity you have been looking for which will transform your future. The company has the best leadership, best compensation plan and best training (at least that is what your sponsor tells you). You may even spam your email list and social media contacts (again!) or spend lots of money on advertising. You might get a few leads or news reps and the excitement goes on for a few months.

Phase 2 - Disappointment/Challenges - After a few months of working really hard, you do not see the results or the income you were expecting. Where is that 5 figure monthly income you were hoping for? Some of your downline team members decide to quit or do nothing. You also lose a money advertising and marketing your network marketing business. Now you have doubt. You question your belief in yourself that you can make this work. You also have doubt about the company and the people. In fact you start to blame the product, the company, the management, the systems and just about everyone and everything for your failing. This is the turning point. You either stay put or quit.

Phase 3 - Failure or Jump into Another Opportunity - Unfortunately 97% of network marketers choose this path. They either move back to their comfort zone and continue to work for their boss or they find another new business (usually in prelaunch) hoping that they will make it big next time. Of course this new business has better potential, better pay plan, bigger market and better training… of course….

Phase 4 - The Fight for Success/Financial Freedom - 3% of network marketers know that challenges and disappointment is part of life. They also know that failure is a stepping stone for success. They try to evaluate the situation, learn new skills and improve themselves and overcome the obstacles the encounter. They might decide to move on to a new business, but only after proper evaluation and assessment of the new company, based on fact and informed decision. After trial and errors as well as continuously improving themselves, they finally achieve the success they deserve.

The important thing to remember is ultimately you are accountable to yourself for your success or your failure in network marketing. You actions or inactions will determine which it will be for you.
